Our Unique Approach To Treating Bed Bugs
Bed bug treatment is honestly one of those things best left to the professionals. Far too often, I’ve seen customers spend hundreds of dollars with zero results on useless over-the-counter products before calling for help. Allow Dayton Pest Control to assess your situation, discuss a solution, and provide a professional solution for your home.
1. BED BUG INSPECTION
Many times, the naked eye cannot see the common bed bug. So if necessary, we’ll perform a thorough inspection checking your mattress, box spring, bed frame, head/footboards, walls, and carpet in affected areas. This step helps us determine how severe the bed bug infestation is and how many rooms are affected. Often, we are also able to discuss solutions and give quotes by phone.
2. HEAT PREP sheet
We’ll provide a prep sheet with you before we perform your bed bug heat treatment. It includes, but is not limited to, the following items: reduce clutter, launder infested garments, dismantle bed frames, empty dresser drawers, remove plastic mini blinds, remove all wax based products, unplug electronics, and clean the area. You must complete the items on this list before we treat your home. This step will drastically increase the effectiveness of your bed bug heat treatment.
3. chemical prep sheet
We’ll provide a prep sheet with you before we perform your bed bug treatment. It includes, but is not limited to, the following items: reduce clutter, launder infested garments, dismantle bed frames, empty dresser drawers, and clean the area. You must complete the items on this list before we treat your home. This step will drastically increase the effectiveness of your bed bug chemical treatment.
4. heat treatment
We’ll use a specialized heater designed to heat-treat your entire home. This is our preferred treatment method and kills all stages of bed bug life (adult, nymph, and eggs). Don’t worry; this step won’t damage your furniture or upholstery.
5. CHEMICAL APPLICATION
We’ll carefully apply selected bed bug materials. We use low to no odor material that has a residual effect in the affected room(s). Not only will we treat your mattress, but we’ll also target your baseboards and furniture (nightstands, chests, dressers, couches, and chairs). This treatment not only drives bed bugs out from their hiding place, but it also kills them on contact.
Frequently Asked Questions
The answer to this question depends on your mattress’s condition and the size of the bed bug infestation. If there are holes or tears in the mattress, bed bugs and their eggs may be nested inside. So we usually recommend discarding the mattress in this case. But if your mattress is in good shape and the infestation isn’t severe, we carry mattress safe encasements and active guard liners. Both of these products are effective as preventative and proactive bed bug treatments.
Let’s set the record straight… bed bugs do NOT transmit diseases through their bites. They do, however, suck blood from their host with piercing mouthparts, but the bite itself is painless. Bed bugs also do not live under the skin. Their bites often appear as red, itchy bumps or welts on the skin, usually on the arms or shoulders. So if you’re noticing bites like this on your skin, please call us at 937-576-8930 today!
After we treat your home for bed bugs, we recommend that you inspect any used furniture you purchase before bringing it into your home. This is especially true for bed frames, mattresses, and couches. We also recommend that you check for bed bugs in your hotel room while traveling. You may want to inspect or vacuum your luggage and wash any clothing you used on this trip once you get home.
Pricing for bed bug treatments starts at $1 per square feet. Your exact price will depend on the size of the infestation and how many rooms are affected. So we recommend you call 937-576-8930 to schedule your bed bug inspection today! We’ll check your mattress, box spring, bed frame, head & footboards, furniture, walls, and carpet for these blood-sucking pests.
This depends on the severity of your bed bug infestation. On average, our bed bug treatments take 30 minutes to 2 hours per room to complete. Furthermore, it’s unlikely that all the bed bugs will be killed in the initial treatment, so we recommend two follow-up visits spaced ten days apart. To get an accurate estimate, please call 937-576-8930. We’ll gladly answer this question and any other bed bug questions you have.
We guarantee our bed bug treatment for a minimum of 30 days. Of course, most of our customers enjoy the results of our bed bug treatment for much longer than that. We do a great job of assessing your unique situation, implementing a proper solution, and monitoring activity after the job is done! To schedule your service, please call 937-576-8930 .
